Joan Bishop, president, convened the Annual Meeting of the Olde Forge / Surrey Square Civic Association on May 5, 2022 at 7:30 pm via Zoom. Notice for the meeting was provided via e-mail and Facebook. Phone dial-in as well as video connections over the Internet using Zoom were available.
Charles Smith of Fairfax County provided an update on the Long Branch Stream Restoration. Public comment is welcome at the County website: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/publicworks/long-branch-input. The County is asking for input on the proposed project extent, site description, concerns, and any additional information that should be considered when evaluating project viability.
Officers and committee members provided their updates and plans, including plans for the 2022 Clean Up, to be held on September 10.
Officer elections were held:
- Dave Cote was re-elected Second Vice President.
- Kelly Dillon stepped down as Secretary. The office remained vacant.
- Dorothy Firsching was elected Treasurer. Joan Biship thanked Jae Park for hhis service and noted that he is on the Pool board as well.
